My paintings are usually colorful figurative expressions and they are autobiographical.  The viewer is invited to explore the mannerisims of the acive figures and exaggerated facial features.  There is an intimacy between the figures implied by the well populated spaces.  One's imagination is engaged when trying to read the possible story  lines of each facial interaction.  Movement is a dominant feature of my paintings.  My palette is limited, yet influenced by the colors of the Caribbean and of my birthplace, the U.S Virgin Islands.  Viewers may feel the rhythm of dance in my paintings.

I am inspired by the drama of Raphael and El Greco, the imagination of Picasso and De Kooning and the mysterious warmth of Henry Ossawa Tanner and Gaughin.
